Poconos, PA
For the Adults
Start your day at the Pocono Raceway, host of races annually. Next, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants that call the Poconos home. You’ll have a lot to pick from: Italian, Thai, four-star cuisine, down-home family cooking, and more. You can end your night at Mount Airy Casino, trying your luck at one of the many slot machines and table games.
For the Kids
No matter the season, families won’t run out of things to do in the Poconos. In the winter, skiing is probably the most popular activity, but if you are looking to try something new, several stables and farms in the area offer horseback riding on snow covered trails. The spring is a great time to get outside for some fresh air with the family. Head over to Bushkill Falls (also known as “The Niagara of Pennsylvania”) and see up to 8 waterfalls on more than 2 miles of trails. After you’ve finished your hike, enjoy a tasty treat from the ice cream shop or fudge kitchen. In the summer, hop aboard a patio boat cruise by Wallenpaupack Scenic Boat Tours and take in the picturesque scenery on a relaxing 50-minute cruise. Finally, in the fall, take in the changing colors (and learn a little local history) while chugging along on a scenic railway.
