Orlando, FL
Kids and kids-at-heart won’t find any roadblock to fun and entertaining activities while in Orlando. The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens has over 500 animals from close to 200 species. Make your way over to the Barnyard Buddies section to see goats, llamas, alpacas, and roosters. If it’s a hot day, be sure to bring your swimsuit and flip flops to cool off at the zoo’s Warton-Smith Tropical Splash Ground.
If the aquatic animals are more your type, head instead to SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium (part of the I-Drive 360 complex). Home to Orlando’s only 360° Underwater Tunnel, you’ll be (safely) surrounded by breathtaking sharks and graceful rays. There, you’ll also see jellyfish, the Giant Pacific Octopus, and more. When you leave the aquarium, be sure to check out the other exciting parts of I-Drive 360. You can take a spin on The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye (a 400 foot observation wheel) for fantastic views, pop in to the world-famous Madame Tussaud’s museum, or just enjoy the open air courtyard and its water show, complete with music and color-changing lights.
If you’re looking for dinner with a twist, check out Pirate’s Town Theaters. This complex is home to four award-winning dinner shows – Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, Treasure Tavern, The Three Musketeers, and Cirque Magique – all which feature a 3-course dinner with entertainment while you eat.
With so much to do in Orlando, the kids won’t mind leaving the regular cast of characters behind for a day (or two!).
